Activated charcoal/Nutrient Depletion:
  • GeneralGeneral: Experts have suggested that nutrient depletion may occur if charcoal is given for more than three or four days. Activated charcoal is known to interfere with the absorption of many drugs, herbs, foods, and supplements.
  • LipidsLipids: In humans, activated charcoal reduced serum total and LDL cholesterol, in a dose-dependent manner (122).
